The Cubs during their time in the pack will have plenty of opportunity to learn new skills and develop existing ones through the completion of badges.
The Cubs badges consist of challenge badges, activity badges and staged badges.
The challenge badges like the Beavers and Scouts, if all are completed, will allow them to receive their Silver Chief Scout Award. The challenge badges consist of: Our Adventure, Our Outdoors, Our Skills, Our World, Personal Challenge, Team Leader Challenge and Teamwork Challenge.
The Cubs also have 37 activity badges. These are individual badges allowing the Cubs to learn something new, to demonstrate their knowledge of something they already know or to help them learn how to help or care for someone in the community.
Some of the badges include the Scientist activity badge, Athletics activity badge and Disability activity badge.
The Cubs have staged activity badges too for those who want to develop their knowledge even further of something new or something they can already do. These badges can contain up to 6 stages with a badge being awarded for each stage completed. Some of these badges include: swimmer staged activity, musician staged activity and digital citizen staged activity.
Some staged activity badges continue through all three sections, Beavers, Cubs and Scouts. All the badges and the criteria for those who would like to work on any badges at home can be found on the scout’s website.
