Cubs
About Cubs
Cubs are our middle section, they are also known as a pack. Children aged 8-10 years old can join or it is the group our Beavers move to after they finish as Beavers at 8 years old.
All our activities help our Cubs to develop and learn new skills. We encourage participation in activities that reflect the scouting values as well as activities which help them work towards new badges. In a similar way to the Beavers the highest awarding badge the Cubs can earn is the Silver Chief Scout Award.
Joining:
Anyone aged 8-10 can join Cubs without having been part of the Scouting movement before. Also the children who become too old for Beavers will make the transition and move up to Cubs when they turn 8.
Structure:
A Cub Pack is usually organised into smaller groups known as Sixes, each is led by an older Cub called a Sixer, and often someone to help them known as a Seconder. Sixes are often used to help organise the group and make it easier to run smaller group activities if needed.
